A well respected French retail site, WT&T have listed The Legend of Zelda:Breath of the Wild 2 collector’s edition available for 82.85 EUR (that’s about $100 in new money), and teased a potential release date. This is listed along side the standard edition of BOTW2, priced at 69.99 EUR, as you can see depicted in the below screen grab.
Whilst the legitimacy of the posting is questionable, it does suggest that Nintendo are following in the footsteps of the first game. BOTW2 may be getting it’s own “Master” edition. Whilst this may be speculative, it’s worth mentioning that this is the very same retailer that mistakenly listed The Witcher 3 on Switch. This happened almost 18 months before Nintendo themselves lifted the curtain. Quite the coincidence, you might say.
BOTW2 Leaks Come in Threes (we hope)
Curiously, this isn’t even the first major Zelda leak this week. Just two days ago Amazon UK listed Zelda: Skyward Sword on the official Nintendo account. Like the special edition listing on WT&T, all mention of the Skyward Sword have since vanished from Amazon, seemingly without a tace.
The clumsy retailer goes on to reveal the launch date of BOTW2 as December 31st, 2020. This would be just in time for the franchises’ 35th anniversary in 2021, which again seems almost too convenient.
Perhaps Nintendo are stoking the flames of the series fanatics in quite preparation of something truly special next year. Either way, appetite for Link and all his hearty adventures has never been higher. Let’s just hope we don’t have to wait a year and a half for the official reveal.
