xCloud-Style Streaming Planned for Console

Fancy demo-streaming a game on your Xbox or PC via the Game Pass? Well, as luck would have it, Phil Spencer already has plans in place.

Hands down, one of the coolest things Xbox did this generation was Project xCloud.

The successfully implemented game streaming for your mobile quickly made Stadia look incompetent.

However, one question that presumably a few in the community must have pondered is, “when is this coming to Xbox/PC?”

Well, according to Big Phil himself, it’s definitely something on the cards.

Responding to YouTube tech content creator, Vyyyper [who, himself was retweeting the Insider‘s Ben Gilbert], Phil Spencer said;

“Yes, we want to do this. It’s in the long list of cool things the xCloud team is working on, just a bit further down the list. But we want console and PC players to be able to browse as easily as mobile players. It’s a good gamepass feature”.

Of course, Phil Spencer didn’t give away a proposed timeframe as to when this feature could be introduced. However, with the success of Xbox’s Game Pass, I doubt it’ll be too long before Xbox decides to improve the quality of life for the service.
