The long-touted iOS release of Xbox Cloud Streaming enters into closed beta testing today.
The Xbox News Wire post announced how Xbox will send out “more invites on a continuous basis”.
These invites will then be open to feedback, which in turn will help Xbox to launch the software on more devices.
Of course, this is only the latest step in Xbox’s slow climb to overall domination through its Game Pass programme. Currently, Game Pass is available on the Xbox family of consoles, Android devices, and PCs. However, thanks to the way Apple was operating, Xbox x iOS streaming seemed unfeasible.
Obviously, there has been a workaround with Apple-branded computers; instead of an on-machine app, Apple users can utilise Xbox Cloud Streaming via the Safari web browser. For now, it should be reiterated, that access is open only to invitation. Meaning, if you don’t have an invite, you still can’t use Xbox’s Cloud-based gaming. The good news is, that Xbox is continuing its rollout to the 22 supported countries.
