Vampyr’s newest patch revamps combat

Focus Interactive has confirmed Vampyr’s promised patch to “de-emphasize” combat will release later this week on September 26th, 2018.

“Story Mode de-emphasizes combat, placing a greater focus on narrative so players can enjoy Dr. Jonathan Reid’s journey with less challenging gameplay,” stated on an update on the Steam platform.

“On the other end of the scale, Hard Mode makes combat much more difficult. Players will receive less experience from killing enemies too, forcing them to rely even more on embracing citizens to grow in power. Upon starting a new game, players have the option to choose from these two new modes or a third ‘Normal Mode’ if they wish to play the original Vampyr experience.”

If you’re already in the middle of a playthrough, you’ll need to start over as you are not able to change the difficulty through the game.

This patch comes along with optimization fixes and support for Nvidia Ansel.

Vampyr’s new difficulty modes will appear next week on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
