Major Update for Fallout 76, Coming to Steam and Adds NPCs

Though it’s been out since late 2018, Fallout 76 has always been missing one notable RPG-trope; the NPC. Now, however, with the Wastelanders DLC, players will be able to mingle amongst these long-requested characters

Bethesda finally announced to fans the release date for the long-awaited update for Fallout 76.

Dubbed “Wastelanders”, the update will be available on April 7th, 2020. Wastelanders will be out for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

The Wastelander Update will add in the much-requested NPCs, which are fully voiced as well. As far as new playable content, there will be a brand new main quest and a revamping of the original quest as well.

New locations, factions, weapons and even the return of a reputation system. These are just a few of the announced features coming to this huge update.

Coming along with the update is news that the Fallout 76 is coming to Steam.

Before this, Fallout 76 was only available from Bethesda’s own private launcher. Players on Steam will have access to buy Atoms, a Fallout 1st Membership, and other cosmetic items.

“If you already have Fallout 76 on Bethesda.net, you will not be able to transfer your Atoms or Fallout 1st membership balance between Bethesda.net and Steam. Additionally, Atoms you earn are specific to one or the other platform. However, items you have purchased through the Atomic Shop will be shared across both platforms – Bethesda.net and Steam”.

A major plus side to this update will be that it will come at no cost to anyone who already has the base version of Fallout 76. To give players more options to customize and support the game, players can purchase two different cosmetic packs.

The two packs are Raider and Settlers.
