UK’s First Pokémon GO Safari Zone to be held in Liverpool

One of my favourite cities on Earth will play host to the UK’s first Pokémon Go Safari Zone event!

Liverpool, as reported by Eurogamer, will welcome players on the three-day event as special Pokémon will roam the home of Scousers. It’s just another reason to visit the beautiful city,

Tickets for the event go live on 31st January at a price of £12. There is an £18 early access available that will also grant players an additional two hours.

Following submissions to #NianticLive2020 which saw city officials and local governments apply to Niantic for the honour. It may sound stupid for any non-Pokémon Go players, but it actually is a huge boost for tourism.

Previous events from last year across the globe brought in huge numbers. Chicago’s Go Fest saw 64,000 people attend with an estimated $120 million made for Chicago’s tourism industry. For a city that already is one of the UK’s most popular tourist attractions, Liverpool’s tourism will no doubt see a huge increase during the event.

The event will be held with Liverpool’s Sefton Park, a 235-acre area of beautiful Scouse splendour. Apparently, the event will feature Krabby, Dratini, Chinchou, Oshawott, Unown (V), and, the New Zealand regional exclusive, Relincanth.

Always a good way to help fill out that Pokédex of yours!
