UK’s Best-Selling Black Friday Game Revealed

Black Friday has been and gone, and we now know what the best-selling (boxed) video game of the sales-tastic week was.
Brace yourselves: Mario Kart 8: Deluxe.
Yes, the Nintendo Switch port of the Wii U title was the UK’s best-selling boxed game of the week.
Mario Kart 8: Deluxe can often be found within the top 10 best-selling games lists on any given week.
However, the Black Friday sales saw a staggering 567% increase in sales week-on-week, according to GamesIndustry.biz.
Obviously, the sales of the Mario Kart 8: Deluxe Nintendo Switch bundle contributed to these figures.
Still, the sales figures are staggering, especially when you consider that physical sales were down overall year-on-year.
Again, GamesIndustry.biz notes that around 100,000 fewer boxed games were sold this last week in comparison to the same week in 2020.

- FIFA 22 (previous week: 5th)
- Minecraft – Nintendo Switch edition (previous week: 12th)

- Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (previous week: 17th)
- Pokémon Brilliant Diamond (previous week: 1st)(Pokémon Shining Pearl came in at 11th this week, and debuted last week in 2nd)
- Just Dance 2022 (previous week: 10th)
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons (previous week: 11th)
- Far Cry 6 (previous week: 8th)
- Mario Party Superstars (previous week: 13th)
