Typhoon Studios is Back From the Dead Already

Typhoon Studios is officially back, though not under the same guise.

As a catch-up; Google briefly owned Typhoon Studios under its “Stadia Games & Entertainment” umbrella.

Together, Stadia saw an exclusive edition of Journey to the Savage Planet release

However, Google decided to shut down all internal Stadia studios – Typhoon included.

Thankfully, Typhoon is back as “Raccoon Logic”, as per a recent press release.

Via the press release, Raccoon has acquired a large injection of funds from Tencent;

“The early investment from Tencent is a huge boost, meaning we can do significant work on our own before we start talking to publishers. We love systemic games, games with a sense of humour and a big heart, and games with strong flavours that get reactions from players. We’re going to keep pushing on those ideas and we’ll have something to show soon!”

Alex Hutchinson, Raccoon Logic Co-founder

Reid Schneider, Yannick Simard, Erick Bilodeau, and Marc-Antoine Lussier – alongside the aforementioned Hutchinson – all head up Raccoon Logic.

Schneider noted Raccoon plans to, “build upon the Journey to the Savage Planet franchise in the future”.

We’ll have more on Raccoon’s plans and the state of Journey to the Savage Planet when it becomes available.
