Twitch Streamer Suspended After Firing his Gun During Livestream

Carl Riemer, a long-time Call of Duty streamer, has gone and got himself suspended from Twitch. He drunkenly discharged his pistol during a recent livestream.

A professional Call of Duty streamer has been suspended from Twitch. The reason? For firing his gun during a live stream.

Now, I should clarify that only one round of the streamer’s gun was fired. However, needless to say, it hasn’t gone down well with Twitch or the streamer’s eSports team.

(Now former) SoaR Gaming member Carl Riemer brandished his weapon during a Friday night live stream. Riemer, who was drunk, jokingly said: “Bitch, say I ain’t got money!” whilst holding his pistol.

Shortly thereafter, Riemer accidentally fired off a round, that ripped through a metal container and ricocheted towards one of his monitors. Following the incident, Twitch suspended Riemer and his eSports team dropped him.

When the weapon was discharged, Riemer was visibly shocked. He even remarked “God damn”, and “What the fuck? I swear to God I just emptied the mag!”

A Stupid Mistake

SoaR took to Twitter to dismiss Riemer’s actions:

“We do not condone the actions on livestream by Carl last night. He has been removed from the SoaR Gaming roster effective immediately”.

Riemer promptly uploaded apology videos to Twitter and YouTube.

“I made my biggest mistake of my entire life last night, and it could ruin my life. [I] could have hurt somebody. [I] could have hurt myself, I could have hurt one of my animals. And that’s unforgivable…I’ve had that gun for two years, and all it takes is two seconds of stupid to ruin everything. To ruin somebody else, to ruin yourself. Don’t do what I did. Don’t be a dumbass!”

We won’t use this article as a commentary on the need for gun control or better gun-laws in America, or anything like that. I’m sure you each have an opinion on the topic, but regardless of how you feel about it, safety should be paramount to anyone and everyone. Twitch, which can be viewed by anyone over the age of 13, often has younger audiences.
