Titanfall Coming to Apex Legends?

In a recent Twitch panel hosted by BrownGirlGamerCode, Game Director Chad Grenier and Senior Writer Ashley Reed talked about the future of Apex Legends. Specifically how Apex and Titanfall fit into the same universe and any potential bleed through from Titanfall into Apex.

“Next season, Season 9, you’re actually going to see a ton of Titanfall coming back into the game in one way or another. So, I’ve told some people before, if you’re a Titanfall fan, hang on for Season 9 because there’s going to be some really cool stuff in there”

So, what could this mean for the franchise going forward? Obvious a lot of Titanfall abilities and weapons exist in Apex Legends with more coming every season. But the most obvious aspect; The Titans are still missing. Back in 2019 in an interview with IGN Drew McCoy detailed why there weren’t Titan’s in Apex. This boiled down to them being insanely unbalanced, and having to nerf them to make it viable, at which point, what’s the point in using a Titan.

So have Respawn worked out these kinks and are Titans part of the ton of stuff coming in Season 9? Biast12 on Twitter believes so, having posted alpha footage of what may be a potential future legend’s abilities. This legend fits as part of the ‘ton of Titanfall’ as it would be Blisk from Titanfall 2, and it appears he can call in an autotitan to surpress an area. Not exactly the same as piloting a Titan yourself, but it’s nice to see them maybe in the game. Also, massive disclaimer that this is all speculation at this point. But if it is true, is it what you want to see in season nine?
