THQ to Finally Make a New Wrestling Game

THQ to Finally Make a New Wrestling Game

THQ Nordic – the spiritual successor to THQ – is making a new wrestling game.

Before its bankruptcy, THQ proper was the main publisher responsible for the WWE mainline video games.

Following the company’s bankruptcy, however, the rights to the WWE license were bought by 2K.

Now, this new wrestling game is not a new entry into the WWE line.

But it is the first proper AEW game.

For those not in the mix, AEW (or “All Elite Wrestling”) is one of the chief rivals to WWE in North American wrestling.

It features former-WWE stars, such as Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan (now going by his real name Bryan Danielson), Sting, and Goldust (now going by his real name of Dustin Rhodes), to name but a few.

THQ Nordic officially announced the new game, AEW Fight Forever on Twitter;

And, even better news for fans of older WWE games, developers Yuke’s is involved too!

THQ Nordic has promised a more in-depth look at the game at the upcoming THQ Nordic digital showcase, on the 12th of August.

Over on the THQ Nordic website, the game’s teaser blurb reads as follows;

“Developed by YUKE’s Co, Ltd, creators of numerous, multi-million unit selling wrestling games, AEW: Fight Forever combines that nostalgic arcade-wrestler feel with innovative All Elite Wrestling finishers and tandem offensive moves. All Elite Wrestling is currently taking TNT and TBS networks by storm every week with their Rampage and Dynamite shows, featuring some of the biggest legends to enter the ring plus a stable of brand new, high-flying, AEW talent.

AEW: Fight Forever brings the best of the best from that talent roster together in one game! Online co-op wrestling is going completely next level in Fight Forever with Tag Team matches that feature sequences of team maneuvers performed with simple commands. A deep career mode, wrestler customisation, signature AEW arenas, multiple match types and more match types than you can count, including some good ol’ fashioned, unsanctioned fun, all await!”
