The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker had a very different look to it when it first came out in 2003, for the mighty Gamecube. Some people very much enjoyed Nintendo’s fresh take on the franchise, and while some people preferred the more gritty art style of Twilight Princess or perhaps the glass-cutting angles look from the N64-era, one can’t help wondering what The Legend of Zelda would look like on today’s consoles.
Thank the goddesses for TheCGBros and their The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Fanart video. In the video, we see Toon Link and The King of Red Lions sailing across the ocean against a blissful sunset. The man behind the impressive showcase is Vitor Maccari. Here is what he had to say about the project.
The Legend of Zelda series always reminds me of my childhood because at this age I had my first experience on SNES, it was magical. The sensation of freedom in this journey into the unknown is the main characteristic of this series that I love. This is my attempt to explore worn out materials, with mixed styles while keeping the original style with colorful and fantastic visuals.
What do you think about the this? Would you like the next Zelda game to have a similar art style to this? Let us Know in the comments.
