Telltale Games, responsible for episodic adventure titles such as The Walking Dead, Batman, and Game of Thrones, laid off a large number of staff today. It’s reported the company will retain a smaller team of around 25.
Reports state once Telltale finishes Netflix’s Minecraft: Story Mode, it will close its doors.

The final season of Telltale’s award-winning series, The Walking Dead, started last month. The second episode is due to launch next week. Reports from multiple developers let go from the company have reported Episode 2 will be the last release, and the game will furthermore be canceled.
A few months prior, Telltale was under the spotlight for accusations of toxic management and overworking of employees. In June, co-founder and former CEO Kevin Bruner sued the studio seeking recovery of financial damages. Telltale described the suit as “meritless” and “an apparent means of extracting revenge on a company already under financial strain.”
