“The Walker” now available digitally for Playstation VR

Winking Works Entertainment and Haymaker have released The Walker as a digital download on the Playstation Store. Selected for the China Hero Project by Sony, and representing the highest level of Chinese game development, it received the 2017 Golden Plume award for Best VR Game.

The Walker is a zombie-cleansing first-person shooter set in old Shanghai – you are the last remaining heir of a long line of exorcists. While you have a modern firearm at your disposal, you can also opt to go close-range with a sword in your hands.

Both long-range or close-range weapons can receive elemental buffs as you also command the power of magical Chinese talismans. Take down shield-wielding monsters with a precision head-shot or block and retaliate their sword attacks with your own sword.

Use the talismans to buff your weapons and shoot out magic bullets that freeze or shock enemies, or simply shatter their icy forms with your sword.

For the designs of the undead monsters, the design team combined oriental aesthetics with modern zombie lore, resulting in walking terracotta soldiers and other terrifying abominations.

  • First-Person VR shooting action combined with close quarters combat.
  • Multiple weapon enchantments using magic Chinese Talismans to increase firepower.
  • Dodge or block enemy attacks using your longsword.
  • Fight off various types of undead monsters swarming from all directions.
  • 5 stage maps, 3 difficulties, and a special rush mode for extended gameplay.
  • 2 Playstation Move controllers required.

The Walker will also receive a physical retail release later this year published by Perp Games.
