The Overwatch 2 Beta Begins In April

Blizzard recently announced that Overwatch 2 multiplayer is releasing separate from the campaign. The PvP-mode is coming out first while the PvE-mode will be launching at a later date. This works out pretty good since it means that we’ll be able to sink our teeth into the multiplayer earlier than expected. And now we’ve received a bit more info about how this will all work out.

The Overwatch 2-beta starts on April 28th. However, this is for PC only although console players will be able to join future beta tests. And, according to the closed beta FAQ you need to own Overwatch in order to try the sequel. Additionally, we’ve uncovered the minimum specs and the recommended specs to play the Overwatch 2-beta.

Minimum requirements for 30fps:

  • OS: Windows 7 / Windows 8 / Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: AMD Phenom X3 8650 / Intel Core i3
  • Video: AMD Radeon HD 7000-series or Nvidia Geforce GTX 600-series
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Storage: 50 GB

Recommended requirements for 60fps with medium presets:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 or Intel Core i7
  • Video: AMD R9 380 / Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM

During a Twitch-stream developer Blizzard revealed that they have learned some healthy lessons from the previous beta-tests. Some, are more surprising than others. Like the fact that Doomfist is now a tank, with a new set of attacks that look slightly Winston-esque.

The Overwatch 2-beta is set to start, for PC players on April 28th. Will you be trying out the Overwatch 2-beta? Let us know in the comments.
