Tencent Makes “Strategic Minority Investment” in Bohemia Interactive

And the big guns keep getting bigger

Bohemia Interactive has recently received an investment from Tencent Holding.

The investment was reported via press release, though an exact amount has not been disclosed.

Bohemia, whose titles include Arma, Vigor, and Day-Z, maintains that it will operate independently despite the investment.

CEO of Bohemia, Marek Španěl stated;

“We are pleased to deepen our relationship with Tencent, one of the most significant internet companies in the world. We look forward to working on our current and future generations of games with the support of a strong partner that has known us for many years and understands our unique approach to online games”.

For anyone following Tencent, the Chinese super-conglomerate now has stakes or investments in companies such as; Funcom, Platinum Games, Miniclip, Riot Games, Supercell, TiMi Studios, and more. Furthermore, Tencent recently opened its own studio, Tencent California, to focus on developing AAA games.
