Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is breaking all sorts of records after only coming out this week. It’s becoming the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch game ever at retail, beating the recently released Pokemon: Let’s Go.
Ultimate is up a massive 302% over the Wii U’s Super Smash Bros., and 62.5% over Brawl on the Wii. This is based on data from chart tracker GfK, as reported by Games Industry.
Digital sales are obviously not included in these numbers, but it’s surprising that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate managed to break retail records with digital being much more prominent in 2018 compared to launch years of previous Smash games.
Unfortunately for Just Cause 4, which launched in the same week,it’s been a rough start. Just Cause 4 is the lowest-selling entry in the series at UK retail, and only managed to land the number six spot in its opening week.
UK retail top 10:

|2||2||Red Dead Redemption 2|
|9||5||Mario Kart 8: Deluxe|
|New Entry||6||Just Cause 4|
