Retailer Cancels Super Mario 3D All-Stars Preorders

A UK-retailer regrettably informs their customers that it will no longer be able to honour pre-orders for Super Mario 3D All-Stars. This due to the fact that Nintendo has offered “woefully short” amount of copies.

Nintendo announced Super Mario 3D All-Stars on the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros Nintendo Direct. The anniversary bundle includes Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. The bundle promises higher resolution, joy-con compatibility, and in-game soundtracks. The game is available for pre-order right now However, Nintendo has said that they are planning to close sales for both digital and physical copies in March, next year. This has, understandably, increased the demand for the game.

Cancelled Pre-Orders

Retailer Base.com has this to say about the pre-orders:

We have just been notified of our allocation of Super Mario 3D All-Stars (Nintendo Switch) and it is woefully short. This is very disappointing and it is with great regret that we have to inform you that we will be unable to fulfil your order on the day of release. Further, as Nintendo and their UK distributors are unable to give us any reassurance that more stock will become available after release, we have taken the regrettable decision to cancel all orders

ResetEra shared this part of an email sent out by the retailer to its customers. However, the game seems to be available for pre-order at other major retailers.

Will you be playing Super Mario 3D All-Stars, or have you ever been the victim of a cancelled pre-order? Let us know in the comments.
