Revealed at the DC Fandome event, The trailer puts Task Force X in an under siege Metropolis, shooting bad guys and disobeying orders… until ‘Alpha Target’ shows up, the red underwear wearing son of Krypton himself… Superman!! And he’s gone evil!

Okay, so we don’t have any actual game-play yet but details of what players can expect have been released!

Playing as one of the four members of Task Force X (Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark) you’ll be tasked with killing the ultra-powerful members of the Justice League. Eagle-eyed viewers may spot the Green Lantern and Batman balloons King Shark pops, possibly hinting at their appearance… or earlier deaths.

Do you need some eye drops Clark?

Players will be able to play co-op with 4 friends, each person taking control of one member of Task Force X. If you prefer to play solo, AI will take over, but do not despair, as you’ll be able to freely switch between each character to use their specific abilities and move sets.

Speaking at the event, Rocksteady Studios’ Sefton Hill confirmed how the game fits into the Arkhamverse, even after Arkham Knight‘s explosive end :

This is a continuation of the Arkhamverse, so a lot of the threads and storylines you’re going to see come to fruition in this game

Avengers….Assemble!!!… oops, wrong universe my bad!

So, post-Arkham Knight, Batman is presumed dead, so he can’t turn up….right?? In all honestly its Batman so who knows.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, is slated for release in 2022 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X, so not far off…

But in the meantime, we have Gotham Knights to keep us entertained in the DC universe… Now, how the hell do you kill Superman without Kryptonite?
