Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Did Better Than EA Was Expecting

Whilst EA might have been wise putting a conservative estimate of between 6 & 8 million copies of Jedi: Fallen Order sold, they were woefully under. Evidently, people really wanted a single-player, narrative-driven Star Wars game

ABG favourite Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has done wonders for EA. Going against the publisher’s previous “better judgement” about a single-player, narrative-driven game, Fallen Order has sold eight million copies.

During its Q3 earnings call, EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen noted how the company had expected Fallen Order to perhaps shift between six and eight million copies. EA thought this milestone would be reached by the end of the current fiscal year.

As you can see, Fallen Order has already sold the upper end of their estimation. Furthermore, EA predicts that Fallen Order might go on to reach 10 million units by April as it has “significantly beat[en]” EA’s expectations.

EA executive Andrew Wilson stated;

“Respawn delivered an expertly crafted high-quality experience with outstanding gameplay that thrilled players, made many of the game of the year lists and sold beyond our projections for the quarter.

Our portfolio of Star Wars games across all platforms has never been stronger”.
