Star Wars Battlefront 2 gets an update…and it immediately breaks

We can all agree that the ORIGINAL Battlefront 2, released in 2005, was quite simply the best game to hold the Battlefront name… and, let’s be honest, still is.

So it came as a surprise when developer Pandemic Studios dropped a surprise hotfix on the 10th, the first patch in three years, to address issues with graphic resolution and controller support. Unfortunately, it didn’t go to plan.

While the update for the fifteen-year-old game was at first met with positivity, it didn’t take long for players to notice that the ‘hotfix’ had made unplayable in several key areas.

Players have reported crash issues, unusable mods, text size problems, resolution issues and more since installing the update.

The update itself was provided by Lucasfilm Games and has since been taken down by both Valve and GOG after reviewing user feedback.

Even though the patch didn’t end up working, it’s good to see that Lucasfilm Games are willing to still support the fifteen-year-old game…maybe a sign of things to come?

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is STILL available to buy on GOG and Steam for under £8.
