Splatoween coming to Splatoon 2

More and more games are adding special in-game events during seasonal periods; like Halloween.   Splatoon 2 is the next game to add this feature.  Although it has only been around for a little more than a year, Nintendo has decided to add a special Halloween Event.  Yesterday they announced that Splatoween will be coming to Splatoon 2 on October 19, 2018.

Splatoween will be a 2 day event that will pit players against each other in a Halloween themed map.  Players will choose to fight on either the Trick team or the Treat team.  To help get everyone in the mood of the themed event, there will also be special decorations around the Inkopolis Square.  Whether your team wins or loses you will earn Super Sea Snails that will enable you to upgrade your character.  The amount of Super Sea Snails will depend on whether your team wins or loses.

Of course playing in these events is always fun, but it’s much better when you can add themed gear to your character.  To help with this Nintendo will also be giving away 4 special pieces of Halloween headgear prior to the event.  The only stipulation is that you need to be subscribed to the Splatoon 2 New Channel on your Nintendo Switch.  It’s not too late to subscribe.

The developers have advised that in order to get the headgear there are a couple things you must do.   First, have the game card inserted or a digital copy.  Second, collect the items from the news article before the ink-dives off your news feed.   Make sure to keep an eye on the Splatoon 2 news feed to get the items, the article should arrive around October 5th.

Are you looking forward to Splatoween?    Not much longer to wait.  You will be able to pick your side on October 10th. The start and end times of the event in the US and UK are:

US Splatoween Splatfest times: Friday, October 19 at 6 pm EDT / 3 pm PDT to Sunday, October 21 at 6 pm EDT / 3pm EDT.

UK Splatoween Splatfest times: Friday, October 19 at 3 pm BST to Sunday, October 21 at 3 pm BST.
