Sony Has Shifted Over One Million PlayStation 4 Games

The PlayStation 4 has the distinction of being one of the most successful consoles ever. After all, it is the second-best-selling home console ever.

However, Sony’s success with the PS4 does not stop at the physical console itself. Since its launch back in 2013, Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a staggering one billion games have been sold worldwide.

SIE has stated that, as of 31st January 2020, 1.181 billion games sold. That figure includes both physical and digital games sold through the PlayStation Store. However, SIE has not counted DLC and other add-ons in this figure.

For comparison’s sake, PlayStation 3 sold 999.4 million games whilst the PlayStation 2 sold a staggering 1.53 billion! When it comes to the monopoly of game sales, Sony is ahead by a considerable margin.

With acclaimed first-party exclusives such as God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man and ABG‘s own Alex Morrison’s favourite, Uncharted, Sony is on a good foot for the upcoming launch of the PlayStation 5.
