Dreams, the create-whatever-you-want-game, has seen many great things being made.
The game allows users to create their own levels and worlds, and allows others to play them too.
Of course, that’s a rather derivative description of it. Players are only limited by your patient and/or imagination.
One user – Bearly Regal – has gone so far as to create a whole re-imagining of classic Super Mario games. Only, with a distinctive twist.
The recently revealed LEGO Super Mario has been the inspiration of Regal’s latest creation. A creation he’s sunk in excess of 60 hours making!
Regal has managed to create a LEGO-ised version of Super Mario‘s home hub – complete with pipes, stars, coins, and a goddamn splashing waterfall!
Honestly, there isn’t much more I want to say about it as it doesn’t do any credit to it. Regal condensed the 60+ hours of creation time into a handy six minute-long video. It’s truly a work of art.
Sadly though, I fear it’s only a matter of time before Nintendo hits Bearly Regal with a cease-and-desist. It wouldn’t be the first time a Dreams creator has created Mario in-game. And, naturally, Nintendo isn’t too happy about their beloved IP being copied without permission.
Still, Regal’s work is magnificent. He continues to create new recreations of familiar games. Using LEGO Worlds, Minecraft, and, of course, Dreams. In the past, he’s created demasters/LEGO renditions of Silent Hills/P.T, Red Dead, Fortnite, and even Cyberpunk 2077 and The Last of Us Part II.
Some of it has to be seen to be believed.
