It’s not the first time a celebrity has made an appearance in a video game. Sometimes it’s by choice and other times it’s against said celebrities’ will. And sometimes the case is bad enough to even be taken to court. Most notably is probably when Lindsey Lohan Sued Rockstar Games and Take-Two for allegedly using her likeness in GTA V.
Variety reports that Singer/actress Selena Gomez is now in the same situation. Gomez sues Chinese Guangzhou Feidong Software Technology Co. and MutantBox Interactive Limited, for using her likeness in their game. Clothes Forever – Styling Game is the game in question.
As you can imagine the developers didn’t ask for permission, and as a result, Gomez is suing the developers for 10 million dollars, which represents all profit made from the game.
Gomez’s lawyers note that the game contains micro-transactions and that Gomez is very careful with what she lends her face and brand too.
You can decide for yourself whether the allegations are justified or not. This is the reported picture, below. Is it just a coincidence or a clear use of Selena’s appearance?
