Sakurai Confirms, No More DLC Characters for Smash Bros Ultimate

Tekken‘s Kazuya Mishima will be coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate, as confirmed at this year’s E3.

Series director Masahiro Sakurai lead the charge in a recent Nintendo broadcast, showcasing Mishima’s moveset.

However, it wasn’t all just about Mishima.

Sakurai also noted that, following Mishima’s release, there will be one more fighter to come in the second Fighters Pass – Smash Ultimate‘s edition of a battle pass.

“Now that I think about it, it’s been close to 10 years since Super Smash Bros for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS was in development. I’ve been working on this for a long time. You could call it my life’s work.

But finally, the next DLC fighter will be the last one. There won’t be any more after that. It’ll be a while before that announcement, but it’ll be available this year as planned…”.

Currently, it is unknown who that last slot will be filled by. Fan-favourites, such as Waluigi, Crash Bandicoot, and even Doom Guy always do the rounds in internet forums and list videos. Regardless of who or what we get, that character will mark the last one released for Smash Bros Ultimate. And, that’s quite a sombre thought.

Mishima will be available in Smash Ultimate from 30th June. He is available as part of the second Fighters Pass or can be purchased separately here [when he is live and available in-game].
