If you’re a fan of the bizarre open world of Saints Row: The Third, you might be in luck. There’s good reason to believe that a remaster is on the way. In Fact, The ESRB may have leaked the Saints Row remaster by listing it on their site.
The classification body is responsible for rating any video game that goes on sale in the United States. Their listing indicates that it is due for release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Likely meaning it’ll be out sometime this year.
At the time of writing, neither Koch Media nor Deep Silver have revealed anything about the remaster. So it may be best to remain cautiously optimistic rather than completely convinced. However, a remaster would make sense given that Koch Media are expected to announce a brand new entry in the series at some point in 2020.
According to the ESRB site, The Saints Row: The Third remaster will retain its Mature rating in the US. No doubt in part due to the sex toy bat that became infamous within the game. However, it became famous not only as an in-game weapon, but an actual promotional tool in real life too.
If the news of a remaster has got you in the mood to play some Saints Row, 2019 saw a port of this very game on the Nintendo Switch, complete with all the DLC from its original launch. Although, according to Digital Foundry‘s analysis, it was…quite poor.
