Resident Evil 8 Coming Next Year?

I don’t know about you, but I thought this whole corona-apocalypse thing would mean a considerable increase in real-life zombies. How good of Capcom then to oblige us with the next best thing, a new installment in the Resident Evil Series.

Twitter, The Source of All Information.

The exciting news comes to us from Twitter. More specifically, AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem. AestethicGamer is a well-known source for leaks, in the gaming industry. However, the accuracy of said leaks aren’t always on point. Take the Silent Hills claim for example. So I encourage you to take the Resident Evil news with a pinch of salt.

In the tweet, AestethicGamer talks about how the new Resident Evil game was supposed to be a spin-off of Capcom’s excellent Resident Evil Revelations-series. Capcom was, apparently, so impressed by the early version of the game they decided to put it in the main pipeline of Resident Evil games.

Give me a hug, Leon.

Back To First-Person.

The leaker went on to talk a bit more details about the upcoming game. Here is what he had to say:

“It is first-person, and many purists are going to hate it because it’s taking some serious departures in the story/enemies and the like. Hallucinations, Occultism, insanity and  not being able to trust others are huge thematics of the game.”

What About The Release-Date?

AestethicGamer has said that the game is set to release in 2021. We were hoping to see more about the game at E3, but as we all know the event has been canceled this year. Thus far, Capcom has neither denied or confirmed the leak. We will just have to wait and see.

So while we wait for more info I encourage you to check out the newly released Resident Evil 3. I hear it has some saucy mods to go scare the pants off you…
