To those wondering where the Resident Evil 3 remake’s multiplayer will fit into the story, don’t worry… it won’t.
According to a statement from producer Peter Fabiano, Resistance is a stand-alone mode, with no connection to the main game.
In an interview by Official Playstation Magazine, Fabiano reveals that Resident Evil: Resistance is;
“…basically set in Raccoon City with scenarios that make it impossible to fit in the actual timeline”.
He goes on to say that;
“…both of these titles have characters that are trying to escape somewhere or something, so thematically it made sense”.
I guess there’s nothing wrong with the extra mode just being there for a bit of fun. Plus, I’m sure we can agree that the more Resident Evil, the better. Whatever form it takes.
Resident Evil: Resistance is an asymmetrical mode that accompanies the Resident Evil 3 Remake. You’ll play as either one of four survivors, or a character called Mastermind trying to stop them.
We haven’t long until we can try the new mode for ourselves. The game launches on 3rd April.
