Capcom have recently revealed the Resident Evil 3 Remake.
Yes that’s right, my favourite Resident Evil game of all time has gotten a taste of Capcom’s amazing remake magic.
In the original version on PlayStation, you play as Jill Valentine trying to escape Raccoon City, which has been overrun with the T-Virus. Along the way, you’ll encounter more of Umbrella’s monsters, including the intimidating Nemesis who will stop at nothing to kill the remaining S.T.A.R.S. members. As well as some of Umbrella’s Rescue Force sent in to help secure the city and evacuate the citizens left alive.
Although the remake was leaked through a PlayStation Store listing earlier this month, the official trailer for Resident Evil 3 debuted today at Sony’s State of Play presentation.
The announcement by Sony also confirmed Capcom’s Project Resistance is actually Resident Evil 3’s multiplayer mode. It’s now simply named Resident Evil Resistance. Whether this will replace Resident Evil 3’s original (and brilliant) Mercenaries mode remains to be seen.
Not everyone is a fan of the redesign
Last week Twitter was abuzz with the news of the rumoured remakes appearance on the PlayStation store. It was also full of tweets poking fun at the Nemesis redesign. Fans were not all too happy about the new nose and dental work the giant creature has received.
In the gameplay we’ve seen, it shows that Nemesis is taking a leaf out of Mr. X’s book and will be relentlessly pursuing you throughout the game.
According to the developer, you’ll be playing as both characters in the remake, similar to how Leon and Claire functioned as dual protagonists in Resident Evil 2. We will have to wait and see if this involves a dual campaign like Resident Evil 2 or if it is just singular story elements like the original game.
There’s an additional developer message from Capcom below, featuring some brief glimpses of new gameplay featuring Jill.
Here’s a full 10-minute match of Capcom’s multiplayer Resident Evil spin-off Project Resistance:
Are you excited for the R3make? Did you enjoy RE2 Remake? What are your thoughts on the characters new looks?

Hi I was born in the 80’s and raised in the 90’s and I’ve been a fan of gaming all of my life. I live in Kingston Upon Hull with my wife and two daughters. I fit my gaming in around a full time job and full house. I love big and complex stories and a good fluid gameplay. For me gaming is about being entertained and having fun.
