Remedy, the developers of Alan Wake and Control has announced that they are working on a new game. However, this mysterious new game is reportedly set in the same world as both Alan Wake and Control.
During Sony’s State of Play event last week the Awe-DLC was announced for Control. The expansion featured a familiar face, namely the haunted author Alan Wake.
Sam Lake, creative director at Remedy, revealed that there is a bigger picture to consider. And that there will be tying more games into the universe officially named “the Remedy Connected Universe.” The new Control-DLC is only the first step in establishing an interconnected world of different IPs, a bit like Marvel.
The events that occurred in 2010’s Alan Wake is considered one of the cases the Bureau of Control is investigating. Lake also said that the Awe-expansion is the first official step towards creating the shared universe but that this is only the beginning.
The Control-DLC sees Jesse Faden checking out the Investigations sector of the Oldest House. Jesse hopes to learn more about the para-natural happenings called Altered World Events, or AWE.
We don’t yet know how all of this ties in with the story of Alan Wake but hopefully, the coming DLC will shed some light over the whole matter. Control’s second DLC releases August 27 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
