PS5 Price and Launch Date FINALLY Revealed

We finally have a launch date AND price for Sony’s upcoming and highly anticipated PS5 and PS5 Digital.

Let’s get straight into it.

The PS5 will cost you £449.99 whereas the PS5 Digital Edition will cost you £359.99.

Tech Specs

Here’s what you’ll get for your hard earned money:

  • CPU: AMD Zen 2-based CPU with 8 cores at 3.5GHz (variable frequency)
  • GPU: 10.28 TFLOPs, 36 CUs at 2.23GHz (variable frequency)
  • GPU architecture: Custom RDNA 2
  • Memory interface: 16GB GDDR6 / 256-bit
  • Memory bandwidth: 448GB/s
  • Internal storage: Custom 825GB SSD
  • IO throughput: 5.5GB/s (raw), typical 8-9GB/s (compressed)
  • Expandable storage: NVMe SSD slot
  • External storage: USB HDD support (PS4 games only)
  • Optical drive: 4K UHD Blu-ray drive

Bear in mind the Digital edition won’t have the 4K optical drive, which is why it’s significantly cheaper.

You’ll still have to fork out for expanded storage eventually, so is it worth it? We’ll have to see when the first lot of games are released. Nobody wants a Warzone style space dilemma.

When can I get it?

Both consoles are set to launch 19th November 2020.

In terms of pre-orders, you can pre-order from TOMORROW! Check this out!
