CDP, the Polish distribution arm that was once tied with CD Projekt, has filed for bankruptcy.
Reported by Polish news site, Puls Biznesu, CDP’s assets has been secured by the Courts.
Founded in the 1990s by Michał Kiciński and Marcin Iwiński, CDP was once apart of the CD Projekt group. However, following a management buyout in 2014 by Michał Gembicki and Marcin Wesołowski, the two companies parted ways.
Ever since CDP has been an independent company and has been distributing video games in Poland. Yes, this would include The Witcher and even Cyberpunk 2077.
At the tail end of last year, CDP employed around 30 people. However, due to the ever-changing economic crises that 2020 has presented, severe lay-offs had to be made. Gembicki told Puls Biznesu that the company “had to adapt to the situation on the distribution market*”
Following CDP’s bankruptcy announcement, Cenega has reportedly taken over Polish video game distribution of Cyberpunk orders.
