The latest Pokémon-themed mobile game, titled Pokémon Masters, has an official launch date.
As reported by Serebii, the unofficial online Pokémon news site, the upcoming game will be available on iOS and Android devices on 29th August.
Pokémon Masters features a new take on the classic monster battling format. The new game will put 3v3 real-time battling at the forefront of the game. It also marks the fifth Pokémon Company mobile game to be released.
Unlike other Pokémon-themed mobile games currently available, Masters will be battle and story-based. This should help it feel more akin to the original entries in the franchise.
The new game also has had a lot of attention put on it on social media. The official Pokémon Instagram account posted updates on some of the characters and creatures you’ll meet along the way.
Pokémon Masters is currently ready for pre-registration on both Android and iOS devices – sort of like pre-ordering a game for consoles. No word yet on a pricing scheme, though, if other titles in the mobile series are anything to go by, it’ll probably launch free-to-play with optional, in-game purchases being offered.
