Pokémon GO – New Legendary Raid Boss appearing until July 19

With the water event now concluded, Niantic has announced the next three Legendary Raid boss, all originally seen in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire and discovered in the Hoenn region.  Regice will appear first starting June 21, 2018 and will only be around until July 19, 2018.   Regice will replace the current raid boss Gen 3 Legendary Kyogre.

Regice is vulnerable to Fire, Rock, Steel and Fighting type Pokémon.  It has a high defensive stat so larger groups may be needed to take down this formidable opponent.

As mentioned Regice is one of the 3 legendary Pokémon Niantic indicated in the announcement; the other two legendaries to make an appearance in gyms across the world this summer are Regirock and Registeel.  We don’t know yet when we will start seeing these raid bosses, but it can be surmised that they will follow quickly after Regice.

Update to June 19, 2018 article on the friends list and trading system:   Niantic has rolled the functions out to players around level 30/31 and up this week.  The roll out is being seen as a soft launch, like what was done for the current raid system.  Niantic has also confirmed that they will be gradually opening these features to players of lower levels soon.
