On Wednesday, March 30th, Adam Michel (Director of Content Acquisitions & Operations for Sony Interactive Entertainment) revealed the free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers for the month of April (2022). These games will be available for PS Plus members from Tuesday, April 5th until Monday, May 2nd.
Hood: Outlaws & Legends – PS4/PS5
Developed by Sumo Digital and published by Focus Home Interactive, Hood is a unique PvPvE action-stealth game. Our resident Overlord and your best friend streamed it on the ABG twitch channel a ways back, and it looked quite fun. Though receiving middling reviews, free for the price of subscription isn’t half bad either.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated – PS4
While it was on Xbox, we reviewed this title upon release and found it rather charming. Remastered by Purple Lamp Studios in association with THQ Nordic, this brought back an old family friendly action-platformer for modern audiences. It’s cute, lighthearted and ‘free’.
Slay The Spire – PS4
In a switch up of gears, Slay The Spire applies the pressure to players with some rogue-like deck building. Developed by Mega Crit Games and published in association with Humble Bundle – yeah, that Humble Bundle, Slay The Spire became an instant indie darling. One that while steep in learning curve, quickly became addictive.
That’s a wrap for this month’s PlayStation Plus games folks. What are your thoughts on these next picks?
This month’s Ghostrunner, ARK Survival Evolved, and Team Sonic Racing, and Ghost of Tsushima: Legends are available to grab until Monday, April 4th.
Also, if you’re an Xbox player, we’ve got your Games With Gold covered for March, if you’re so inclined.
Until next time, stay classy.
