Sony has officially confirmed the new date for it’s Playstation 5 reveal event as June 11th. The news had previously leaked via an advertisement on Twitch that was probably published too early.
The event will start at 1PM Pacific time, and 9PM British Summertime.
The Playstation 5 reveal was previously scheduled for June 4th, but was delayed to allow space for the Black Lives Matter protests happening at the time.
Sony’s official announcement notes that the pre-taped event will be broadcast at 1080p in 30 frames a second.
While some may be disappointed that the event won’t be able to show off the beauty of PlayStation’s 5’s expected ability to output in 4K 60fps, audiophiles might have a little something coming their way.
The same post also recommends that viewers watch the event with headphones, noting that “there’s some cool audio work in the show, and it might be harder to appreciate if it’s pumped through your phone or laptop speakers.”
If you’re unable to watch the event live, but still want to keep up to date with PS5 news and info as it comes, ABG will be hosting a Live Report on the event that will be constantly updated with information as we learn it. If it gets a bit too techy – like that 50 minute long “Road To PS5” event – we’ll break down what it all means for you, the consumer, in an easy-to-digest way.
