PlayStation 5 Production Sees Massive Boost

As we get closer to the launch of the PlayStation 5, increased production on the next-gen console has boosted the expected output to between nine and 10 million units being made before the end of the year.

The upcoming PlayStation 5 console has recently seen a large upscaling in production, several reports note.

Bloomberg and Nikkei Asian Review have both detailed how Sony has upped the manufacturing of the PlayStation 5; an original estimate of six million to up to 10 million units being manufactured.

As the ongoing pandemic has made gaming more popular, Sony has almost doubled its output of the next-gen console. China has also recently started re-opening many production and manufacturing facilities which will help boost console production numbers.

However, an expected second wave of the pandemic will likely result in the necessity of more in-home entertainment, such as video games. Sony will likely be wanting to get on this ahead of the curve.

The PlayStation 5 is slated for launch “holiday 2020”.
