Good news for owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt outside of GOG (Good Old Games), as they can claim a free copy from now until June 23rd, 2020. To activate this perk on GOG 2.0, players need only download, and link an account containing The Witcher 3 purchase. Eligible copies include the following platforms: PS4, Xbox One, Steam, Origin, and Epic Games – unfortunately not the Nintendo Switch. (GOG 2.0 is incompatible with Nintendo accounts). It’s noted that achievements and progress will apparently carry over.
The corresponding version that players receive will be dependent on their owned copy. For example, players who own the standard edition, will receive the standard edition on GOG. Similarly with special editions with included DLC. One notable downside, however, is that separately purchased expansions will not carry over. It can’t all be free, right? GOG’s version is DRM free, and with the PC version being arguably the best way to experience The Witcher 3, it’s a perfect opportunity to dive back in.
The Witcher 3 was one of the most critically acclaimed titles of all time, will you be picking up a second copy? Let us know in the comments.
