October’s Game Pass Games Revealed

October’s Game Pass Games Revealed

We usually only cover the Games With Gold releases each month. However, as the Xbox Game Pass is structured in a similar way [and considering Games With Gold is increasingly being looked at as an after-thought], we thought we should look at doing a monthly Game Pass games release schedule…thing as well.

So, as October is now upon us [thankfully], let’s have a look at the games currently announced* for the Xbox Game Pass. These releases will vary from being available on Xbox consoles, PC, or Android mobile devices via xCloud.

[*These games are the only ones currently announced. That doesn’t mean they will be the only ones to be released for Game Pass throughout the month].

1st October

Doom Eternal

Available on: Mobile & Console

“Hell’s armies have invaded Earth. Become the Slayer in an epic single-player campaign to conquer demons across dimensions and stop the final destruction of humanity.

The only thing they fear…is you”.

Drake Hollow

Available on: PC

“Welcome to The Hollow, a blighted and dying place, and home to the Drakes.

Drakes are the friendly vegetable folk native to these parts, and they need your help. They’re hungry, thirsty, and need a place to sleep. They can – quite literally – die of boredom. It’s on you to save them. Build gardens to provide them with food, wells for water, and yoga balls and puppet shows to keep them entertained. You can even craft treadmills and solar panels to generate power for Tesla coils, electric fences, and other fortifications.

You’ll need robust defences, as you’ll quickly see that The Drakes aren’t the only residents of The Hollow. The Feral have overrun the land, evil creatures that are looking to shred anything happy or good. Battle them one-on-one with a wide array of weapons ranging from tennis rackets to nail guns, bring your friends to lend a hand, and build your defences so you can take them out without lifting a finger”.

Of course, as more games come to the service, it also means some games are leaving. Whilst these titles are still on the Game Pass, take advantage of the discount applied to each and buy them to own forever.

Leaving 15th October

Felix the Reaper

Leaving: Console & PC

“Felix works at The Ministry of Death and is in love with Betty The Maiden from The Ministry of Life. He believes that going to the human world as a field reaper will enable him to one day meet her. Hence he’s taken the job of making sure people die and taught himself to dance to impress Betty.

Since Felix only moves in the shadows, he needs to manipulate those shadows to move around. Luckily reapers like Felix are able to turn the sun and move shadowing objects, which enables him to create the necessary shadow paths to get around. He does so to solve the adventure plots, which makes people die according to the ministerial plans”.

State of Mind

Leaving: PC

“When mind and machine become one – what will remain of humanity?

Berlin, 2048 – The world is on the brink. Lack of resources, illnesses caused by polluted air and water, crime on the rise, war. Governments and companies promise remedies through technological progress. Drones and humanoid robots replace humans in the public sector, everything is interconnected, surveillance has become omnipresent.

Richard Nolan is one of the few journalists openly criticizing this development. When he wakes up in hospital after an explosion and finds that his wife and son have mysteriously vanished, Richard realizes: he and his family have become more than just bystanders in a storm of rivalling ideas pertaining humankind’s salvation between dystopian reality and digital utopia. Instead, they find themselves right at the centre of it”,
