Nintendo Confirms Release Date For Switch Online Expansion Pass

Nintendo Confirms Release Date For Switch Online Expansion Pass

In last month’s Nintendo Direct Nintendo revealed that an expansion pass was coming to Switch Online along with both Mega-Drive and N64 Games. And we’ve finally got a release date as well as a confirmed price tag.

Switch Online is a subscription service similar to Xbox Live or Playstation Plus. However, baked into the cost of Nintendo’s service is a feature similar to Xbox Game Pass or Playstation Now. So you’ll need it to play online with other people but you’ll also get a library of Nintendo games to play with no extra charge.

Pricings And Launch Date

The basic cost for Nintendo’s online subscription service is £17.99 for the individual membership and £31.49 for the family version. This new Switch Online Expansion pass is going to cost you £34.99 for the solo membership and £59.99 for the family bundle. So the price isn’t too steep. Microsoft’s and Sony’s versions are both pricier. Also if you change from a standard membership to the more expensive one you’ll get a discount based on the amount of time that’s left on your original subscription. Finally, Nintendo revealed that the Switch Online Expansion Pass launches on October 26.

What do you think about the new Switch Online Expansion Pass? Is it worth your money or would you rather just dig up your old N64 and play the same games there.
