What many Pokémon GO players have been asking for since they first completed the Kanto Region portion of their Pokédex was PvP. As Niantic has refined the battle area modes and released more and more Pokémon the call for PvP has not faded. Pokémon Trainers you may get your wish soon.
In an interview with polish magazine Gram, Anne Beuttenmüller, Niantic’s Head of Product Marketing in the EMEA region revealed that they were working on the PvP mode and that it would be available soon. Anne was quoted as saying (translated using Google Translate) “We are constantly improving the elements that we have available in the game and the next thing that we want to add at the end of this year is the PvP mode.”
Over the past year Niantic has made many changes to the game, some of which people have speculated are leading to the addition of PvP. First there was the change to the battle arenas with the addition of Raids. Recently there was the addition of a friends list, the ability to add comments in the list, trading and lucky Pokémon, that require less to power up. All of these additional options and elements will definitely assist Pokémon Trainers in building strong battle teams.
All of these changes certainly seem to be leading us towards the addition of PvP style play in the game.
