Newly Formed Studio Heads Up Next Battlefield Campaign

Battlefield 2042 was a huge disappointment for many a Battlefield fan. To rectify this EA hired co-creator of the Halo universe, Marcus Lehto to form a new studio in Seattle with the sole intent of making story-focused games. Shortly thereafter EA confirmed that Lehto’s new studio’s first project houses in the Battlefield universe.

One of Battlefield’s executives, Byron Beede reveals that Lehto’s new studio is called Ridgeline Games as well as ensures us that Ridgeline will be responsible for all upcoming Battlefield campaigns; giving DICE more time to focus on the multiplayer mode.

However, there are also reasons for concern. Lars Gustavsson creative director at DICE leaves the studio after 22 years. Gustavson’s departure from the studio and the Battlefield series leaves a lot of die-hard fans concerned for the future of the franchise.
