In what is becoming a common sight in 2020 another game has been pushed back. Amazon’s new MMO; New World has been delayed until spring 2021. Rich Lawrence (New World’s studio director) recently wrote a post regarding this.
Originally given a release date of August 25th. Rich states that results from Alpha testing and community feedback and the implementation of these changes are the main reasons for the delay.
“We don’t make the decision lightly, and we have urgency about getting the game to you as quickly as possible at the best quality — with some additions that will make the experience even better.”Rich Lawrence
August 25th will still mark the release of a ‘current build’ of the game, however. This will be open to Beta and Alpha testers as well as Pre-Order customers. With codes going out to those involved via email.
This change in release date will also affect the final beta of the game which will be pushed into spring 2021.
Hopefully, these changes will prevent New Worlds suffering the same fate as Amazon’s other recently released game; Crucible. Which recently went back into beta following release following a drop in player count.
