Ubisoft Toronto is looking for a script writer for the upcoming Splinter Cell Remake. Through a job ad posted by the developer, we can sus out a few tasty bits of information about Sam Fisher’s long-expected return.
Ubisoft wants to deliver “next-generation visuals and modernized stealth gameplay while preserving what’s at the heart of the Splinter Cell experience”. These next-gen visuals are possible thanks to Massive Entertainment’s Snowdrop engine, previously used in The Division 1 and 2.
The brief description of the game reminds us of the original Splinter Cell but told in a way that’s more believable and realistic than before. It also tells us about the general idea of the project:
“Using the first Splinter Cell game as our foundation we are rewriting and updating the story for a modern-day audience. We want to keep the spirit and themes of the original game while exploring our characters and the world to make them more authentic and believable. As a Scriptwriter at Ubisoft Toronto, you will join the Narrative team and help create a cohesive and compelling narrative experience for a new audience of Splinter Cell fans.”
Seeing as Ubisoft is searching for a scriptwriter we can assume that the Splinter Cell Remake isn’t very far in development, despite being announced an entire year ago. However, we hope to see more Splinter Cell and Sam Fisher news in the near future.
