New Critical Role tie-in Sourcebook Announced for Dungeons and Dragons

A new Dungeons and Dragons expansion is coming from Wizards of the Coast; Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount. Fans of the popular D&D show Critical Role might recognize the setting that this book is from.

The brainchild of show host and Dungeon Master Matt Mercer, the expansion to 5th Edition will introduce parties to his personal game world, divided into four different regions.

“Rising tensions boil over into all-out war between the politically dubious Dwendalian Empire and the light-worshiping wastefolk of Xhorhas”.

Dungeons & Dragons

This new book is filled with all sorts of exciting and new options to play D&D. These range from new sub-classes, monsters, magical items and spells. The book gives you the tools to craft your own unique backstory set in the world of Wildemount with Mercer’s heroic chronicle system.

A Whole New Way to Play D&D

Four separate adventures will help introduce players to the different regions of the world. Included with the book are smaller pre-made adventures, and tons of regional plot seeds for home DMs to use.

Matthew Mercer, DMing for Steve Colbert

The creator of Wildemount’s world is elite DM, Matthew Mercer. He has been creating various games of his own since 2015. But he’s not alone anymore.

Critical Role and D&D community members have pooled their collective talents to help with writing and illustration duties.
