Nearly $115 000 Raised For Children’s Hospital In Sea of Thieves

The smell of heartwarming news is on the ocean wind.

Rare are proudly announcing that the Sea of Thieves community has raised  $114 841,48 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. They did this by selling a set of sails called Sails of Hope. The Sails of Hope was available between February 18 and March 17 and was adorned with a heart in blue, red, and purple.

This isn’t the first time Rare has done something like this in Sea of Thieves. In February 2020 they raised money for SpecialEffect and in October the same year, Rare also raised money to Stand Up To Cancer. We here at ABG are good friends with Special Effect in particular. If you want to know more about the charity why not check out our interview with Becky from SpecialEffect.

We hope to see more initiatives like these ones in the future, not only from Rare but from all big game-developers

What do you think about charity drives like these? Do you own the Sails of Hope? Let us know in the comments.
