Marvel’s Spider-Man was recently released on PC.
The PlayStation first-party exclusive found equal amounts of success when it made the leap.
And, aside from the usual bells-and-whistles you would expect from a PC game (mods, more options, etc), there’s something else present; the game’s executable file.
Found within the game’s directive are various codes that help the game run and more besides.
And, it appears one sleuth dug up a series of code that alludes to multiplayer content.
Twitter user DniweTamp posted screenshots of what are alleged to be lines of code from the game;
Included in the codes are lines that read “Superior Spider-Man“, “Peter Parker is the Superior Spider-Man!“, “Miles Morales is the Superior Spider-Man!“, and “Superior_Spider-Man_Winner_Message“.
These all suggest that a competitive co-op mode was on the table at some stage.
However, those modes did not make it into the final release.
With Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales set to release on PC at a later date, and the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 swinging along next year, it might be a small look into what could be in the game’s future.
