Anyone who has ever looked on YouTube for game videos will have undoubtedly noticed at least one on Minecraft! The game is a social media phenomenon, and YouTube is no exception to its reign.
In fact, YouTube has confirmed Minecraft’s overwhelming popularity on the site with its Rewind video. The YouTube tradition celebrates everything that 2019 gave us – the good and the bad. Of course, it’s all stuff that occurred on YouTube itself, which is often questionable at best.
However, in terms of gaming, the top five most watch games this year are as follows.
Roblox, the online creation game had 29.6 billion views. Garena Free Fire, a free-to-play mobile battle royale game wracked up 29.9 billion. With 36.9 billion views, Grand Theft Auto V took third place. No surprises for guessing that Fortnite would be in the top five list, and with 60.9 billion views, it deservedly took second place.
However, with a staggering 100.2 billion views this year alone, Minecraft is by far YouTube’s most-watched video game. This also marks the first time that Minecraft has been ahead of Fortnite in terms of views since January 2017.
With several key YouTubers getting back into Minecraft this year, including PewDiePie, it was probably only a matter of time until we saw this news. But what about you guys and girls out there? What did you enjoy watching being played on YouTube? Let us know in the comments section below.
