It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Commander Shepard. Rumours have been flying around for a few years now about a Mass Effect remaster, and it’s finally been given an official release date. Mass Effect Legendary Edition comes out on May 14.
A short trailer was also released, along with the announcement.
The video shows off the remastered Sci-fi trilogy in crisp 4K-resolution with delectable highlights from the entire series. The trailer also promises us over 40 pieces of DLC coming with the game including story missions, weapons, and armours.
The Mako Has (Probably) Never Looked Better
Bioware wants to make sure that Mass Effect Legendary Edition looks as good as it can and. Therefore, a key focus for the remaster has been upgrading the visuals, with crisper textures, remastered character models, improved dynamic shadows, volumetrics, depth-of-field, etc.
Project Director Mac Walters says: “Remastering a game, let alone three, is a huge undertaking as there are over 100 hours of gameplay included, but we wanted to do this for our fans as well as a new generation of gamers looking to jump into the iconic story of Shepard.”
